breaking a habit

so ive had this little habit known as nail biting since i grew in teeth. ive kicked it here and there  by having acrylic nails put on but once theyre gone, i go right back into it. ive never actually had enough self control not to do it. well, the day has come. all last week my hands have been absolutely ridiculously dry. meaning that my constant biting was getting the best of my fingers and causing blood and pain to come into my life. i dont remember when i decided not to do this anymore (i think it had to do with a guy at work commenting on how short they were) but i havent bitten them for like 5 days. im not sure if i have remarkable nails but they have grown so much since then! maybe in just relief that my teeth havent torn them to shreds yet my nails are celebrating? not sure which but im not complaining.

i dyed moms hair but didnt grab any gloves and so my left hand is dyed brown, and if youve ever dyed hair without a glove you know the worst part -- your nails. so i had her paint them and they look so good! maybe im biased and just in awe at how good ive done but they look gooooood! :) so hopefully after this post and proclamation of my "kicking the habit" ill continue on my change of habit and not bite them anymore!!! keep your fingers crossed!

oh! i turned in my insurance papers (since im currently uninsured- i know right) today and hopefully they'll be in and ready before august so i can hit the doctor and get back on my meds and taking care of my thyroid and insulin resistance. :)) heres hoping!

oh geeze... been awhile

its been awhile since i wrote on this... man a lot has happened. i didnt work for 2 1/2 weeks due to vacation, funeral, and lack of scheduling tact. going back to work was really hard... i cannot tell a lie. i've had more jobs than i want to admit because of the lack of difficulty. i start jobs am really excited and then about a month or two passes and im bored again cause i've mastered the skills. its a real problem.

on sunday i went to my parents ward because BYUI President, Kim B. Clark spoke in their ward. can i just say that he is an amazing speaker and i love listening to all of his talks. i then went to work and wow... i was so tired... it was one of the longest days EVER! then after work i went to Rexburg to visit my friends since the semester is ending on friday. we went stadium singing and did fireworks and talked.. oh man, good times. i didnt get to see 2 of my really really good friends because they stink at answering their cell phones or returning calls or anything. makes me sad but they are staying over the break so i guess its okay.

yesterday i went shopping in IF with 2 friends and was totally not into it. something must be wrong. i LOVE shopping. i was at famous footwear and had no desire to look or try on anything. is there any medication to fix this??

oh and i took a 2 hour nap :)

i've become a sort of movie addict. okay, i've had this problem for a couple of years now. i dont even want to think of the money spent at Edwards $9 a ticket and Red Box-my new BFF. It doesnt help that my super good friend maren works at hollywood and is pretty much required to watch all the new releases. We're kind of... horror lovers. I love getting scared and having that adrenaline rush. I cant help it. (I have 1 rule when it comes to movies- nothing demonic. Not like charmed or Buffy, but exorcisms and possessions- things like that). Maren and I both lost our non-committal snuggle buddy due to a mission so we've instated eachother till his return, meaning we cant watch these horror films alone so we watch them together and cower in terror together! everything is better with friends!  anyway, after FHE we watched Shutter. its a Japanese movie directed by the same guy that did the ring and the grudge. its one of the best japanese films ive ever seen. we were both scared and jumpy. the ending was rather comical so it lightened the mood and made the post watching easier.

i have a really good friend (whose a total movie snob ;)) and she said that the orphanage was super good. however, i only have a few friends who will watch scary/horror flicks with me and they are all hours away... so i have yet to watch it.... sad sad day.

after high school the lives of your friends become overly dramatic and at times hysterical. i mean, i look at these people and think- what happened?! did your brain get sucked out and shoved into one of those bad meth-induced movies? its absolutely ridiculous the lives many of my high school peers are living. i love them still and love spending time with them and all that but MY WORD! drama drama drama. and it kills me the audacity they have to blame their drama on everyone else rather themselves. as if everyone else is staring at their lives dictating their choices. many of whom have been taught better and know better. and im not saying that im judging them, im just saying that they are living in a soap opera.

i'll add vacation photos next time..
