woah...
woah. so tonight i get on my facebook account and i see that an old YW leader made a group about leaving the mormon church. i finally got to know what happened and why she left, but in doing i saw MORE facebook groups about how to, why, and support groups. im honestly shocked right now. the church is the reason why im still here. i love the gospel and the truths that it brings. it hurts to have someone who taught me many of these truths turn her back on and leave it all. i know its true- all of it. i love this woman because of what she taught and how she affected my life however, its hard not to look at her and think of all the wonderful things that she has given up. anyways, i suppose my eyes have been opened and my testimony tested and strengthened by this experience.

a week...
woah, so angie is right! its been a week and no new post! well... lets be honest i havent weighed myself. BUT! i have worked everyday but sunday and monday. (friday night it was at 1 am but it counts!) my clothes are just a little looser which is definitely nice and my body is happier (im not going into details...) ive kinda made the half goal to be able to run a 10 minute mile. right now im just under 15. eating wise, ive cut way back on soda not entirely off it since my schedule is so random and my work out is so late. and i dont crave candy anymore! thank goodness. i mean, its good, just not something i need a lot of. although, on the downside i need to up my water. at work i bought 30 bottles for 4.51. im impressed. i think ill buy more...

stress!!
so my friend asked me to be a bridesmaid at her wedding in seattle. of course i said yes and just barely booked the flight (as in on monday). i fly out of salt lake tomorrow and i work tonight. i havent done ANYTHING to get ready. i work in 3 1/2 hours and im planning on leaving to Blackfoot tonight and then drive the 3 hours tomorrow at 7. that way i'll get there at 10ish, grab some grub, drop off my car and go to the airport. of course this is all determined upon if i actually am ready to go by then. at this point it looks like a night of mt. dew and no sleep for me. :( very sad day. and lots of stress.

breaking a habit
so ive had this little habit known as nail biting since i grew in teeth. ive kicked it here and there by having acrylic nails put on but once theyre gone, i go right back into it. ive never actually had enough self control not to do it. well, the day has come. all last week my hands have been absolutely ridiculously dry. meaning that my constant biting was getting the best of my fingers and causing blood and pain to come into my life. i dont remember when i decided not to do this anymore (i think it had to do with a guy at work commenting on how short they were) but i havent bitten them for like 5 days. im not sure if i have remarkable nails but they have grown so much since then! maybe in just relief that my teeth havent torn them to shreds yet my nails are celebrating? not sure which but im not complaining.

back in the US
well, i finally made it home. yesterday i got off the ship and got an amazing taxi to the belize airport where i flew from belize to miami, hitched a taxi ride from miami to ft. lauderdale, "stood by" and got a flight to vegas and got on the last part of my treck; a flight to salt lake. i got in about 220 this morning and am now settling down for the night. im awfully tired, its something like 7 am ship time and i havent slept for almost 24 hours. im glad i came home. im not going to lie and say that im not sad for missing out on the rest of the cruise, but everything was perfect on the way here that i know the lord had it all planned out way before i had made the decision to come home. im so grateful for all the tender mercies i have received this past week, and all the kindness from so many strangers. they made the trip so much easier than i ever could have imagined.

blast from the past!
so for awhile now a lot of californians are selling their couple million dollar homes to live here in Idaho, where there then tiny house is being turned into a massive house with tons of lawn space. this has upset many idahoans because... well,.. some californians cant really drive. but, lately, driving around idaho falls and shelley i have seen so so many oregon plates and i think, really?! what is all this about?! and every time i have a flashback to the days of oregon. i thought it was funny how we seem to be the trend setters and other people follow. i mean, thats of course why they're all moving here, cause we're here! :) not that the world revolves around me or anything.

rexburg...
the past two days have been AMAZING! i went up to rexburg for an overdue visit. it was so much fun visiting with old friends and reconnecting. finding out what is new in their lives and experiencing the changes with them. pretty much everyone and everything has changed but for the better and it was so cool to see how much we've all grown. unfortunately i wasnt able to see everyone i was planning on seeing but since this last visit was so much fun, i'll probably head up there again soon. i havent felt this happy in a very very long time. yay for friends!

fickle heart
life throws you unexpected changes. change is good and often brings its own rewards for the hardship which it brings. i dont know if i would say ive "turned a new leaf" but i definately have changed. in my mind and heart. but the consequence of change is the unknowing. when you do the same thing and dont change, you know your result. and so far, change hasnt been much of a part of my life. i mean, i try and do new things, but i always resort back to the same unchanging world. ever since my birthday ive been reflecting. things on the inside are changing. the way i think, act, feel are changing. i am changing inside and out. ive started the baby steps. i know what i want in baby steps, but my ultimate goal is still unknown to me. i know the direction of who i want to be and where i want to go, but the girl who once was is slowly revolving into the woman i want to be. the past is gone and nothing will change that. i have few regrets and love the trials ive gone through for they were perfect and a gift. im not sure if everyone gets to this point in their life where they hit a crossroads of sorts and their life completely changes. ive made some very difficult decisions in the past couple of months. the things in my life that i just went with are no longer able to be in my life and the choices and the person i once was is no longer a part of who i am. the learning, growth and opportunities that have occured in my life have changed me forever. every individual has affected me in some way. and every sincere action has changed who i am and how i view the world. with the help of my savior and father in heaven my dreams are coming true, even though, at times, i am unaware of what those dreams, or my capability truly is. no matter who i was, i am changing for the better.

bridal shower...
hey everyone! so i need opinions on invitations for Hillary's bridal shower. i just made 2, i have a couple more lodged in my brain but I want to get your guys' opinion. i havent confirmed the date or anything i just wanted to get something made up so i dont have to worry about it after my cruise. (i know, im actually NOT procrastinating!!) any input would be great!
I really like this one because its a little more artsy... i changed the color on the background so you can read it a bit better it almost killed me to do it and save it, its a really pretty picture. Although, I dont know how it would look on a 4 x 6...
I also really like this one because of the simplicity. Also, I like white writing. I think it'd look cool on a 4 x 6 because of the angle I put it on.

iy yi yi!
so i've been pretty busy the last week with work. but that doesnt stop the world from turning. on sunday morning around 12:30 i received a text but i was already passed out on my bed so i ignored it till the morning. one of my most favorite people got engaged!! so i was planning on flying there for the wedding (and hoping it was after the cruise so i could actually afford it!) so after playing phone tag all sunday, that night we were finally able to talk. she updated me on every detail of the relationship and all the good details. then when she found out i was planning on coming to the wedding (which will be in seattle) she asked me to be a bridesmaid, which of course i agreed too. which works out perfectly because my cousin rochelle and her husband and bryce and his wife will or are living there so now i dont have to worry about hotel expenses!! the wedding is planned for august which is perfect for washington weather. im thinking about going early or staying later so i can hit the sites and maybe schedule a trip to oregon! but everything is in the works still.
spencer is now officially engaged. as far as i know (which isnt much cause he neglects to call me back) the date isnt solid yet. hillary really is great and will be an awesome addition to our family. shes from rigby and is attending BYUI.
its my birthday in less than a week, and as a present to myself im cutting and dying my hair today! its pretty much going to be amazing and i cant wait. ill try to get pics up tonight.
so as of now i have an extremely busy couple of months starting at the end of june. hopefully everything works out.
love you guys!

Been awhile...
As the title leads you to believe, its been awhile since I've posted anything. Not much has been going on, well anything interesting at least. I went to all 3 hours of church on the 30th! It'd been about a month since I attended everything since March was absolutely INSANE with traveling and all. I really do love going to a singles branch. Fall semester ends this week so more people will start coming this weekend which will be good, our numbers are pretty low.
I'm all sorts of confused. I love being in Shelley with my friends family and branch. I'm content I guess... but I've been feeling like I need to mix things up a bit. I'm not super happy at either of my jobs and I feel myself falling back into my old habits and not progressing any. Many of you are thinking, well, go back to BYUI. I loved BYU-Idaho, but being away for a little bit I've realized that it wasnt for me. I'm such a strong-independant person that the lifestyle of those up there dont suit me. Not that I broke the rules or do anything wrong, but I never felt like I really belonged there.
General Conference was amazing. I admit, I've never been such a huge fan of President Monson. I always preferred Faust and of course Hinckley. But this conference affirmed that he is the Prophet of our Heavenly Father. I was blownpaway. I really enjoyed Sister Tanners talk on being delighted. Okay, I cried. She was my General President when I was in Young Womens and always looked up to her.

bah!
Its spring break up here in Idaho therefore, I didnt have to be woken up at 645 to sub! YAY! Monday came lots of fun with working at the mall. Tuesday I went with a friend to 27 dresses (my second time seeing it, first with my cousin chelsea), Wednesday I went to the mall with my favorite person Brett! It was so much fun, I often forget how much I love hanging out with him! Then this morning my mom needed a ride to work, so I slipped on my flip flops and headed upstairs. In opening the door I almost began to cry. The wind was blowing and whipping around the newly fallen inch of snow- which the first layer had turned to ice. Overcome with hysterics I calmly walked to my car and started it after grabbing my BYUI blanket out of the backseat and covering my chilled legs. We headed off towards Idaho Falls where I drove about 35 the whole time (the speed being 50) and as we hit a curve started fish tailing. The freeway wasnt so bad and neither was the drive home.
Where did spring go!?
Then I went to get mom around 5 and I had to hit the bank. (oh by this time all the snow was gone and left the famous Idaho chilly wind that whips around you and freezes all your senses to the bone) We left around 5:30 and I started driving in the country roads where the speed is 50. For about 1/2 a mile the speed is 40 which I typically ignore and drive 50ish... Yeah, you guessed it! Hello mr. officer and I get pulled over about 30 feet from the 50 sign. He clocked me at 54 in a 40 (I dont even want to imagine that ticket). So he comes up and gets my info and goes back to the car. Im sitting there, almost in tears because I had kinda a rough day. My mom isnt saying much, and me holding back the curse words. He comes back and says, Angela, its your lucky day. Slow down and have a nice day.
For maybe the tenth time in my life Im speechless.
I love county cops.
Then this evening I went to Blackfoot for a POD activity (a bunch of single branches get together since we're all branches). On the way home, I seriously have no idea what I was on, but my friend has a sun roof... well... 55 on the highway does murder to your hair. I was dancing and singing like a crazy person and standing up all the way home. Im cant imagine me high or on drugs....
I'd like to take some space to complain for a moment.
Disclaimer: the following is not to hurt or cause any harm to anyone. These are my personal thoughts and therefore I do not pass judgement onto those who disagree with them.
Yeah, I better make a disclaimer. So lately a lot of my friends/family have been getting engaged/married, which is normal for my age group and also because I typically have older friends. Also, I have known several couples in the past 3 or so years get divorced.
Is there such a thing as "hormonal revelation?" Living in the "mormon belt" and have lived in BYU-I do, I know the pressure that people my age feel to get married. Hec, I was almost engaged my Jr/Sr years in high school. To fulfill happiness we are required to be married in the temple and have families. I love the gospel and the everlasting life/joy/families that are incorporated with it. I just wonder if sometimes pressure of having to get married gets to people and then they rush into marriage. Honestly, isnt marriage hard enough without adding the fact that you two hardly know eachother, but have received revelation to get married? I ask, why not wait? Adam and I had about a 2 hour conversation, him siding that if you know its right, why wait? me saying, why rush? basically it ended badly having to agree to disagree. Close friends of Spencer and I recently got divorced after 4 months of marriage. They had known eachother for years but apparently it didnt work out. My thoughts are; date longer than your engaged. Another example: they met and started dating in June. Engaged July 4th. Married August 19 or something. THATS 3 MONTHS OF EVEN KNOWING EACHOTHER AND THEY'RE MARRIED! Thats fast, really really fast. Im not against marriage or anything of the sorts. Im all for it, in my expirience and in seeing other peoples relationships, I figure save yourself in the long run and know someone before marrying them. Even if you spend everyday with eachother for 3 weeks- your still in "new love" "twitterpation" stage, and let the relationship evolve and get to know eachother, whats the rush? Eternity is a long time.
All this coming from the non-dating girl. :) And no Jace, Im not too picky. I actually enjoy being single.

i hate plane tickets...
Well, the cruise has been booked, but the plane tickets and the hotels have yet to be scheduled. The hotel isnt really a problem, but the plane tickets are retarded. The best deals have been around just over half the cost of the cruise itself- we think its ridiculous. We keep checking online nearly everynight hoping to find some kind of an amazing deal but we havent. Kristy and I have never really done this so we arent really sure what we're doing. All we know is that we will be leaving from SLC to MIA (or Ft Lauderdale) on June 21 and returning around July 2, and we're going on the Carnival Valor to the Western Caribbean.
If anyone has any tips for finding the best prices or are willing to donate skymiles or business travel expense deals it would be grately appreciated. We figure that if one of us has a cheaper or free ticket we'll just divide the total cost between the 3 of us and it'll be cheaper all around.
Nothing really happened today... I went to both my jobs, decided Im going to look like a heroine addict and start donating plasma (the liquid form of your blood that cannot be chemically produced) for cash, and Im going to get another part time, night job. Maybe work in a hotel since I have expirience... who knows really.
